A striking new interpretation of the 1985 cult slasher classic Nail Gun Massacre, created by acclaimed Ghanaian movie-poster artist Farkira.

This completely original artwork was recently commissioned through Brian Chankin of Deadly Prey Gallery. It has never previously been used or released as poster artwork.

Farkira reimagines the film in the unmistakable style of Ghana’s hand-painted movie-poster tradition. The masked nail-gun killer dominates a wild montage of oversized skulls, flying nails, terrified victims, blood-soaked mayhem and imagery inspired by the film. Bold reds, yellows, blues and greens give the artwork the wonderfully exaggerated, nightmarish energy that has made Ghanaian movie posters highly sought after by horror fans and art collectors around the world.

The result is a truly unique piece of Nail Gun Massacre artwork—colorful, graphic, imaginative and unlike any previous poster created for the film.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: FARKIRA

Farkira, also known as Ebenezer Adjetey Mensah, was born in Teshie, Accra, Ghana, in 1967. After learning from renowned Ghanaian artist Gin Arts, he began working within Ghana’s movie-poster tradition around the end of the 1980s and has been painting movie posters since the early 1990s.

Farkira became known for his colorful compositions, dramatically exaggerated characters and imaginative reinterpretations of popular films. He has created commissioned paintings with Deadly Prey Gallery—originally working with the gallery through Odd Obsession Movies—since 2014. His work is now collected and exhibited internationally as part of the celebrated tradition of Ghanaian hand-painted movie-poster art.

ABOUT DEADLY PREY GALLERY

Deadly Prey Gallery works directly with Ghanaian artists, maintains an archive of more than 1,000 posters and introduces this distinctive art form to new audiences through exhibitions, original paintings, commissioned artwork and prints.
